Enter Will Swyfte. He is one of Walsingham's new breed of spy and his swashbuckling exploits have made him famous. For millennia this unseen enemy has preyed upon humankind, treating honest folk as playthings to be hunted, taken and tormented. But now England is fighting back. Armed with little more than courage, their wits and an array of cunning gadgets created by sorcerer Dr Dee, Will and his colleagues must secure this mysterious device before it is too late. Theirs is a shadowy world of plot and counterplot, deception and betrayal, where no one - and nothing - is quite what they seem. At stake is the very survival of queen and country...

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of Dorothy vs. Alice comes this dementedly funny reimagining of the classic tale. Alice never left Wonderland. She's trapped. She's angry. And she wants revenge. The truth is not what you were led to believe. It wasn't all "just a dream." It's a nightmare. A nightmare she can't escape, where formerly pleasant characters throw her unhappy unbirthday parties to torment her, while others like to make her cry so they can lick her tears. But one day after years of this unpleasantness, she loses her heart. Literally. Well, technically someone steals it. And she has to get it back. By any means necessary. And it's a lot easier to be ruthless now that she's heartless. Alice is fed up with all the losers of Wonderland, from the goofy Mad Hatter to the bloodthirsty Cheshire Cat to the sadistic Queen of Hearts. And Alice is tired of being so sweet and innocent, with all her dimples. She used to be a preteen, but today is her 13th birthday, and she’ll be singing unhappy birthday loudly as she delivers violent justice! Yeah, she used to be so sweet you could die. Well, now they all shall die…literally. Yes, from now on, she shall deal death with two dimples and a giggled kill line. She’ll be a super cute Angel of Death! It may be 1865, but Alice is about to go medieval. She will have her heart returned to her even if she has to kill all the citizens of Wonderland one by one… Malice in Wonderland Saga Malice in Wonderland Prequel Malice in Wonderland #1: Alice the Assassin Malice in Wonderland #2: Alice the Angel of Death Malice In Wonderland #3: Alice the Girl Who Will Tear Your Heart Out and Show It To You Before You Die Malice Hates Fairy Tales Trilogy Jabberwocky Trilogy Dorothy vs. Alice Trilogy Keywords: free Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, Lewis Carroll, Lewis Carol, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Humpty Dumpty, Gregory Maguire, Coraline, twisted fairy tales, fairy tale retellings, reboot, horror, paranormal, fantasy, coming of age, teen, Jabberwock, Jabberwocky, Caterpillar, Tweedledum, Tweedledee, Red Queen, Queen of Hearts, Tim Burton, Serena Valentino, Wicked Queen, knight, steampunk, victorian, british, period piece, Dorothy Must Die, twisted tales, unbirthday

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fulgurating power of creative imagination - Imaginatio Creatrix - setting in motion the Human Condition within the-unity-of-everything there-is-alive is the key to the rebirth of philosophy. From as early as 1971 (see the third volume of the Analecta Husserliana series, The Phenomenological Realism of the Possible Worlds, Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka, ed.), Imaginatio Creatrix has been the leitmotif for the research work of the World Phenomenology Institute (now published in eighty-three Analecta Husserliana volumes), one that is eliciting echoes from all around. Husserl's diagnosis of a crisis in Western science and culture, the inspiration of much of postmodern phenomenology, has yielded place to a wave of scientific discovery, technological invention, and change in societal life, individual lifestyles, the arts, etc. These throw a glaring light on human creative genius and the crucial role of the imagination that gives it expression. This present collection is an instance of that expression and the response it evokes. It manifests the role of imagination in forming and interpreting our world -in-transformation in a new way and opens our eyes to marvel at the new world on the way. The Erard piano is one of only three extant instruments belonging to Beethoven and is housed in a museum in Austria. Beghin argues that the piano sonatas Beethoven composed between 1803 and 1810-including the "Waldstein" and the "Appassionata"-show the influence of the new French style of pianism and of the Erard in particular, specifically in the uses of tremolo, legato, and the "una corda" pedal, which softens dramatically the volume. Beghin shows that Beethoven was guided by a search for new sonorities and that the specific "touch" provided by the Erard's technology helped to point him toward new compositional horizons, especially at a time when he was forced to withdraw from performance due to his increasing deafness. The book combines informed historical analysis of the musical milieus in Vienna and Paris with the author's own experiments at the keyboard in order to reconstruct the specific techniques that Beethoven was exploiting and the ways they translated into his innovative piano writing"--
